“Outstanding” (Cabernet Sauvignon) – Langton’s Fine Wine Classification IV. 5 Star Winery – Halliday Wine Companion

“The quality of the grapes has never been in doubt. A priceless core of 6.8 ha of cabernet sauvignon planted more than 30 years ago, joined more recently by merlot, malbec, cabernet franc, pinot noir and chardonnay. The two estate vineyards (the second on Puzey Road, called Woodlands Brook Vineyard) are, except for 1 ha of chardonnay and pinot noir, planted to the Bordeaux varieties. Whatever the shortcomings of the 1990s, these days Woodlands is producing some spectacular wines in small quantities. The larger volume Cabernet Sauvignon is also of very high quality, and Woodlands is now a major player in the top echelon of Margaret River producers.”- James Halliday Wine Companion
